Moving Ahead, Together..
Students are invited to participate in a cultural and educational exchange within elementary schools located in the beautiful rural surroundings of the Eastern Townships, in Quebec Canada. Renown for it’s socio-constructivist curriculum, bilingual programs and its integration of technology into the classroom, the Eastern Townships School Board’s short-term (1 month) programs offer a unique bilingual language immersion experience (English/French), while participating in experiential learning opportunities in and out of the classroom.
Students attend our local schools in the daytime, where they will be immersed in Grade 5, 6 or 7 classrooms with other Canadian students, allowing them the opportunity to collaborate on multi-cultural projects and develop life-long friendships.
Students reside in a one of our three residences, supervised by chaperones and an activities coordinator. They will be exposed to a myriad of activities, including swimming, bowling, sleigh rides, curling, arts and crafts, skating, hiking, local festivals, skiing, snowshoeing and/or seasonal cultural activities (i.e. apple picking, sugaring, etc.), depending on the time of year they are attending.
They will also participate in excursions including local city discovery trips, a day trip to Montreal and an overnight trip to Quebec City or Ottawa.
Our residences have a capacity of 30-40 students. A minimum of 15-20 students are required per grouping. One chaperone per group of 10 students must accompany students during their stay.
Please contact Mrs. Linda Brault () for further information on our programs and rates. All rates include medical insurances, transportation to/from airport and access to a personal laptop computer during their stay in the Eastern Townships School Board.
