Short term
Moving Ahead, Together..
Students are invited to participate in a cultural and educational exchange within elementary schools located in the beautiful rural surroundings of the Eastern Townships, in Quebec Canada. Renown for it’s socio-constructivist curriculum, bilingual programs and its integration of technology into the classroom, the Eastern Townships School Board’s short-term (1 month) programs offer a unique bilingual language immersion experience (English/French), while participating in experiential learning opportunities in and out of the classroom.
Students attend our local schools in the daytime, where they will be immersed in Grade 5, 6 or 7 classrooms with other Canadian students, allowing them the opportunity to collaborate on multi-cultural projects and develop life-long friendships.
Students reside in a one of our three residences, supervised by chaperones and an activities coordinator. They will be exposed to a myriad of activities, including swimming, bowling, sleigh rides, curling, arts and crafts, skating, hiking, local festivals, skiing, snowshoeing and/or seasonal cultural activities (i.e. apple picking, sugaring, etc.), depending on the time of year they are attending.
They will also participate in excursions including local city discovery trips, a day trip to Montreal and an overnight trip to Quebec City or Ottawa.
