  • A completed application form signed by the parents or student (if of legal age)
  • A certificed translation of the student’s birth certificate
  • Copies of school report cards from the last two years
  • The final report card for the current academic year
  • A photograph of the student (passport size) + a picture of the student to be sent to the host family (high school program only)
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher or school principal specifying the student’s English ability and his/her general social and academic predispositions (translated)
  • Vaccination records
  • Parental Consent forms (extra-curricular activities and photographs) (high school program only)

Step 2

The student or designated agent will receive a conditional acceptance letter via email within two weeks after the office has received all the required documentation. The acceptance package will request payment for the following:  application fee ($200 CAD), tuition, homestay (if applicable) and CAQ fees ($182 CAD).  It will include the custodian forms required for Visa applications (high school program only).  A comparative evaluation application will also be provided for Vocational applicants only.

Upon receiving required fees, the ETSB’s international department will apply for the Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) on-line (www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca), and forward the completed and signed application to you for your signature.  The completed signed application and accompanying documents should be returned to the ETSB International Office for processing.  CAQ acceptances are issued within two weeks of receiving all required documentation.

Step 3

Once payment for tuition has been received, the student will receive a final letter of acceptance from the ETSB International Student Office.

Once the CAQ is granted, the student must apply for the Canadian Study Visa. A temporary resident VISA (TRV) may also be required, if the student is a citizen of a country from which Citizenship and Immigration Canada requires Temporary Resident Visas for entry into Canada. Step 4 (For high school program candidates only)

Upon acceptance to our program, the ISP homestay coordinator sends pictures of the home and homestay family to the student, as well as confirmation of the school that the student will attend. We encourage families’ to connect with the homestay family throughout the summer, either via Skype or email, as a means of getting to know each other prior to arrival.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

In order to arrange for free airport pickup upon the student’s arrival, it is important that you send the flight information to the ISP office and to the host family a minimum of 2 weeks prior to arrival.

If we do not receive this information, we will assume that you will be making your own arrangements for airport pickup in Canada.
