Who may vote in the elections at the Eastern Townships School Board (ETSB)?

To be able to exercise your right to vote in the October 29, 2017 by-election, you must be registered on the ETSB list of electors and meet the following conditions on polling day:

Be 18 years of age or over;

Be a Canadian citizen;

Be domiciled on the territory of the School Board and have been domiciled in Quebec for at least six months;

Not to be under curatorship;

Not be deprived of their election rights;

Be registered on the electoral list of the ETSB based on the following criteria:

– having a child admitted to the Eastern Townships School Board;
– in the case of an elector who has no children in a public school, having deposited a Notice of Choice to be added to the list of the Eastern Townships School Board.

A parent is therefore automatically on the list for the school board if his/her child attends.

There is no direct link between voting and paying taxes to ETSB.

Forms for making a choice are available at the ETSB head office or by clicking on this link: Notice to the returning officer
