A Student Ombudsman for complaints from students or their parents
Since January 1st 2011, Me Dominque Paillé is the Student Ombudsmans for the ETSB. Her role is to examine the complaints from students or their parents.
When the Student Ombudsman receives a complaint, she must determine if the complaint is admissible and inform the complainant. Notwithstanding the above, she may take a complaint at any stage if she considers that the intervention is necassary to prevent harm from being caused to the complainant.
When taking a complaint, the Student Ombudsman will review the file and could contact the concerned parties to request that they present their observations in writing. Within 30 days of the receipt of a complaint, the Student Ombudsman gives her opinion on the merits of the complaint to the Council of Commissioners and the Secretary General and recommends any appropriate corrective measures. The Council of Commissioners, at its next meeting, will inform the complainant of any action to be taken regarding the corrective measures recommended by the student Ombudsman.
