The Eastern Townships School Board is proud to announces its involvement with the Projet Partners for Educational Success Estrie (Projet PRÉE) towards the regional mobilization project to ensure young people's educational success!
The Estrie region is one of the regions of Quebec with the highest dropout rates. In 2007-2008, within the total number of students who left school, close to one youth in four did not have a diploma or a qualification. In the past five years, nearly 5000 young estriens left school without having obtained a diploma or a qualification. Two thirds of these students were young men.
Only half of the students who graduate from high school continue with post-secondary studies. However, over the course of the next three years, more than 26 000 jobs requiring professional or technical training will become available due primarily to the retirement of personnel.
Partners for Educational Success Estrie is made up of 20 partners who value the educational success of young people. The Projet PRÉE priorities are to increase educational perseverance, and to boost the qualification and the graduation rate of young estriens.
