Early this morning the school received information that there was a perceived threat outside of the school. As soon as we were aware of the possibility of an unsafe situation for our students and staff, the school immediately went into a lock-down mode. All students were kept in their classrooms behind locked doors and no one was entering or exiting the building. The local police and Surete du Quebec (SQ) were called in. During this operation, no regrettable incident occurred.  The SQ conducted a thorough search of the building and surrounding area before releasing the students from their classrooms to be sure that the threat had passed.

I understand that many of you have received messages and postings on social networking sites, but I assure you that your son/daughter were safe at all times. All decisions and actions were taken with their safety and best interest at heart.

We would like to congratulate the students and staff for their calm and professional conduct in this matter and the authorities for the quick action in securing the school.
