EASTERN TOWNSHIPS SCHOOL BOARD NAMES NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL
Magog, December 16, 2009- Mr. ” The Council of Commissioners unanimously endorses this appointment and believes Ms. Beaulieu will provide outstanding leadership and a strong creative vision to support the ETSB’s ongoing development.
Ms. Beaulieu joined the ETSB in July 2000 as Secretary General, bringing with her a solid knowledge in education law and administration. After only two years, she was appointed to the position of Assistant Director General and in this capacity took on a more active role in the management of the school board. She has been instrumental in raising the profile of the ETSB by reviewing both its internal and external communications to reflect its achievements. To complement her already strong background, she completed a Management in Education Certificate in 2008.
Ms Beaulieu led the development of the Senior Administrators’ success plan, bringing an approach focused on results and accountability with the goal of increasing student success. More recently, she has spearheaded the dropout prevention dossier for the ETSB. Under her guidance, the school board has implemented many strategies and has seen a significant reduction in the number of youth dropping out of school.
Mr. Murray added that Ms Beaulieu’s student-focused approach coupled with her knowledge of the ETSB’s strengths and challenges will allow for a smooth and seamless transition in leadership. Her mix of skills and experience will allow the ETSB to continue to evolve and improve toward providing the best education for its students well into the 21st century. On behalf of the Council of Commissioners, students and personnel of the Eastern Townships School Board, we congratulate Ms. Beaulieu on her appointment and look forward to continued growth as recognized leaders in public education.
