EASTERN TOWNSHIPS SCHOOL BOARD NAMES NEW
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR GENERAL

Magog, January 27, 2010 -The Council of Commissioners and the Director
General Designate of the Eastern Townships School Board (ETSB) are
pleased to announce the nomination of Mr. Gilles Ribaux to the position of
Assistant Director General of the Board effective April 2, 2010. Both
Mr. Michael Murray, Chairman of the Council of Commissioners, and
Ms Chantal C. Beaulieu, Director General Designate, strongly endorse this
appointment. “Mr. Ribaux has demonstrated an extensive knowledge of
pedagogy coupled with strong administrative and leadership skills,” stated
Mr. Murray. “His varied career and experience within the ETSB will be a
definite asset as we strive to improve student success even further.”
Mr. Ribaux’s experience covers 31 years with the ETSB beginning with
seven years as a classroom teacher. In 1986, he was promoted to the position
of principal for three elementary schools in the Compton area and in 1989
was appointed to the position of Vice-Principal at Alexander Galt Regional
High School. He became Principal at Alexander Galt Regional High School
in 1997 where he continued to demonstrate admirable qualities of leadership
and organization skills. In the spring of 2007, he joined the senior
administrative team at the head office as the Director of Pedagogical
Services and Transportation. “I have had the pleasure of working with
Mr. Ribaux as part of the senior management team for the last two and a half
years and extend my full support to this nomination”
Ms Chantal C. Beaulieu added. “I look forward to our collaboration together
and working with the senior management team to ensure continuing
improvements in student achievement.”
As well as taking on the responsibilities of the Assistant Director General
position, Mr. Ribaux will retain his Directorship of Pedagogical Services.
