ETETSB Student Expectations for Learning with Laptops
“What should we be doing with the laptops?” is a question often raised since the introduction of the ELS. The following set of expectations has been compiled for teachers, students and parents to know the specific skills students should master and how these are integrated into broader learning contexts.
It is important to note that the expectations listed below are the basic minimum and that with one-to-one laptops many of our students can go well beyond these to include 21st Century skills and critical thinking with their use of technology for learning.
Look for links that connect to many lesson ideas and student activities based on subject material and competencies from the QEP. All are classroom-tested activities written by ETSB. Many thanks to the teachers who worked to create this set of expectations and to integrate the classroom activities.
