Objectives

• Using an encyclopedia, a search engine, or a library book, you will identify an endangered specie of Alaska. The specie or organism may be plant, animal, mammal, or insect.
• You will create a Power Point presentation on your chosen specie.

Your presentation must include pictures of your selected organism in its natural habitat. Use the following questions to guide your research. Questions may or may not be relevent, depending on the spcie you have chose.

1. What type of habitat does this organism live in? Does this specie live elsewhere on the planet?
2. What type of food does this organism need to survive?
3. Does this organism have predators? Are humans amongst them?
4. When and where do they reproduce?
5. Is there physical differences between males and females? ( colour, size, …etc)
6. What is the life span of this specie of organism? (3 months, 6 months, 10 year…….etc)
7. What are the major causes for your organism being on Alaska’s endangered specie list? (pollution, destruction of habitat, increased predation, climate change…….etc)
8. How have we tried to help in preserving this endangered specie from extinction?
