Dear Parents,

I am pleased to let you know that Knowlton Academy Staff and Students are off to a wonderful start this year. Children and Adults are now back to the fall routine with homework and lunches as part of it! We are already starting to be busy with different activities and events on our schedule.

PPO Meeting: Our Parent Participation Organization will be holding its first meeting of the school year on Tuesday, September 14^th at 6:30 in the Home Economic Room. All parents interested are welcome to join the fun!

School Photos: School photos will take place on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. We are still seeking volunteers to help with supervision in the morning. If you are interested in helping us, please contact the school as soon as possible. Your child/ren must wear their uniform that day.

Annual General Assembly of Parents and Meet the Teacher Night: We look forward to meeting you at the Annual General Assembly of Parents and Meet the Teacher Night on September 16, 2010. The evening will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the viewing of the 2009 – 2010 Celebration Video (kindly prepared by Lynne Hamilton). At 6:00, we will start the General Assembly of parents to elect members of the Governing Board for the 2010-2011 school year, followed by Meet the Teacher Night in the classrooms. We look forward to seeing you all!

In an effort to accommodate parents with more than one child, the teachers will be offering 2 sessions where you will have an opportunity to meet them and become more familiar with the program and class procedures. Please understand that there will not be an opportunity to discuss individual students. If you have specific concerns regarding your child, please call the teacher or Mrs. Chartrand at school. The teachers will begin their first session at 7:00. The second session will begin at 7:30. The presentations will be complete by 8:00 p.m.

Cafeteria Services: Yannick Breton of Chef à Domicile started last week as our new Cafeteria Services Provider. We are pleased to report that the meals are good and that things seem to be going very well! You are receiving a new order form today and need to send it back with money for tomorrow or the latest Thursday. The menu is for a two week period. A complete meal/ Hot Lunch is now be $4.50. While cash is accepted for snacks and other items, Hot Lunches should be pre-paid with your order form. If you need a last minute Hot Lunch, make sure to call the office before 9:00 a.m. We encourage families to try the new system that is implemented this year. It avoids children carrying cash in their pockets.

September 17^th: Do not forget that September 17^th is a Pedagogical Day. If you would like your child/ren to attend Daycare that day, please call Debbie Melanson at 450-242-1336 to see if places are still available. Congratulations to Shawn Crandall for her new position as Daycare Service Educator!

Terry Fox Run: On September 30^th, the school will again participate in the Terry Fox run. You will receive more information shortly.
