Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we near the end of the 2010 school year, I would like to let you all know that it has been lots of fun and hard work at Knowlton Academy. I have been really impressed with the degree of dedication of all Staff Members, Parents and Volunteers. It is incredible what we are able to accomplish together. I would like to wish you all a very happy Holiday Season with your loved ones and I hope to see you here for one of our various December activities listed below.

Season’s Greetings and Best Wishes for the New Year!

Friday - December 3rd, 2010 Volleyball Tournament:  This event was held at Massey-Vanier High School on Friday and our A Girls brought home the plaque, as well as our K1 Boys Team.  Thank you to Mr. McKelvey, Mme. Ferland, M. Lemaître and Ms. Gibbs for coaching and for everyone who came out and cheered our teams along!!

Thursday, December 16th – K, Grade 1,2 & 3 Christmas Concert:

We are pleased to invite you to our 2010 Christmas Concert held in the Gym at 7 p.m.  Monetary donations to the Helping Hands Program would be greatly appreciated as well as non-perishable food donations for Knowlton’s Food Bank.  If your child is performing, please make sure he/she is in the classroom at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, December 17th:

Christmas Dinner will be served at a cost of only $2.00 instead of $4.50. Please note that no other food will be on sale that day – students should bring snacks from home.  In order to guide numbers for food preparation, please send payment for Christmas Dinner by Monday, December 13th.  Payment should be in an envelope clearly identified with your child’s name, homeroom and “Christmas Dinner”.

Again this year, we are able to decrease the cost due to generous donations from different organizations.  Thank You!!

December 20th- Church Service:

Knowlton Academy Students and Staff will be walking to the Anglican Church for a Christmas Celebration. More information will follow.

December 21st,  - Pancake Breakfast:

We will welcome in the holidays with our annual Pancake Breakfast.  In the interest of the environment, please have your child bring in a plate, fork and cup in a bag that they can bundle up after breakfast and take back home to wash.  Volunteers are still needed and if you are able to help, please call the office at 450-243-6187.  Similarly, donations of syrup would also be greatly appreciated.

At 13:00, Knowlton Harmony Band will perform their Christmas Musical Collection. Parents are welcome to join us.

Food Bank Donations – We will continue to collect donations for our local food bank until Friday, December 17th.  Please drop items off in the boxes outside the office.

Lost & Found – Please take note that all unclaimed items from the Lost & Found will be collected and donated to Charity after December 21st .

January 5, 2011Jan. 5th is a PP Day and we still have available spaces in the Daycare. We are planning an obstacle course using balloons and brick-a-blocks, sliding in the back of the school, hot chocolate and marshmallows sounds yummy! Please call Debbie at 450-242-1336 for more information and if you are interested to sign up.

We will welcome students back to school on Thursday, January 6, 2011.  Please continue to check your child’s head regularly over the holidays.  There will be a school wide “Head Check” in January as a means of preventing any possible spread of lice following the extended vacation.

Happy and Safe Holidays One and All.
