History
For nearly 15 years, Job Links has been offering the English-speaking population of the the Estrie region (eastern sector of the historical Eastern Townships) free employment-related services. Each year, Job Links provides services to over 200 clients seeking a variety of employment and career guidance support.
Job Links began in 1995 as a project of Townshippers Association but such was the demand for services that additional partners were soon needed. The Eastern Townships School Board assumed management of Job Links in 1997, and with funding from Human Resources Development Canada, continued to offer support for job seekers. Since 1999, with the transfer of responsibility for employment services from the federal government to the province, Emploi-Québec has been financially supporting Job Links. More recently, the Education Ministry of Quebec has also provided some financial support.
Job Links continues to collaborate with numerous community partners, facilitated by its current location within the Marguerite Knapp Building in Lennoxville that houses several other organizations serving the English-speaking community.
